Tears and meltdowns there have been a few!
Today is different as I look at you!
There is excitement and nerves and happiness too,
I forgot how much school stole this from you!
Today is different, something new, am sending you off to a different view, a school where you can be just be you!
Am still as nervous and worried too, because I know you struggle with all things new.
Today I have a faith in teachers who will take care of you!
And bring back the smile I miss seeing on you!
I hope they get to see the real you, the funny chatty caring wild child that I adore!
Today is a different view, one that’s a right for you!
One that I hope brings back smile and joy of learning for you!
